Sunland Epoxy Molded Guitar Picks

Sunland Guitar Picks
Sunland Guitar Picks are epoxy molded picks of various shapes and sizes. They started out as being all custom shaped from and ice cube tray mold. This method took a lot of time and added extra waste.
I then had the idea to make silicon molds of the best selling shapes to save time and material cost. After the epoxy cured in the mold, it only took 5-15 minutes to clean up the pick and polish it.
As you can see, I was able to create several different variations of picks and add several options within each. By under-filling the mold, the pick would naturally develop a dish-like surface that formed to your thumb. I was able to take this a step further to create that dish on both sides of the pick so each pick shape had three options: flat on both sides, one thumb dish, and two thumb dishes.

Through experimentation, I found adding excessive amounts of dyes would cause the dye to rise to the top of the mold or sink to the bottom. This would cause the surface of the pick to be sticky. Feedback from my customers provided they liked the sticky texture because it gave them a better grip.
